The Somaro Maiko Tea House was built in the Edo period to host entertainment for visiting merchants and officials during their stay in Sakata and has since been restored! The 2nd floor features a stunning banquet hall where you can watch the performance of the Sakata Maimusume; traditional dancers and singers that elegantly carry on the traditions of Sakata. While shooting video during the performance is prohibited, after the performance you can take pictures with the Maimusume as a memory to show all your friends and family!
